The title concept 'in-between' (metaxu) refers to identity that remains in perpetual disjunction, dispersion and crisis. This book proves that 'in-between' is not an empty space, but a productive mode of creating new qualities, experiences, ideas and representations. The authors of individual chapters interpret selected aspects of metaxu in relevant to contemporary cultural communication areas, i.e. linguistic and more broadly semiotic, and make contemporary discourses the object of exploration. Most of the analyses are based on the Polish-language linguistic context; however, they refer to a universal perspective of culture and communication.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Joanna Senderska, PhD, Dr. habil., is an associate professor at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, Poland. Her publications mainly concern the syntax and vocabulary of the Polish language, as well as online discourse and communication.
Anna Wileczek, PhD, Dr. habil., is an associate professor at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, Poland and a head of the Department of Discourse Studies at this university. She is the author of many publications devoted to, among others, analysis of the language and discourse of young people from a socio-cultural perspective, including the monograph Kod mlodości. Mlodomowa w aspektach spoleczno-kulturowych (PWN: Warszawa, 2018).
