H. Gregory Snyder Ph.D. (1998), Yale University, is Professor of Religious Studies at Davidson College (Davidson, NC). He is the author of Teachers and Texts in the Ancient World (Routledge, 2000), as well as many articles on teachers in ancient Rome.
