Invisible Ecologies positions immersive digital art as a critical tool for rethinking the relationship between city, nature, and
technology.
Thus was born the cue and the thematic idea that gives life to the project titled “Invisible Ecologies”: the goal is the production and enhancement of an unpublished work in the field of visual arts that researches and gives to the public a dramaturgy that, merging art and technique, reopens the dialogue between man and environment, the city of Florence with its river. Forma Edizioni, in its role as a publishing production entity committed since its inception to the dissemination and promotion of better research in the cultural, artistic and technological fields, came into contact with the artist Tommaso Cherubini and selected him as the protagonist of this project for the enhancement of artists under35 for his ability to combine art and new technologies, as demonstrated by the work THIS IS WHAT WE BREATHE, a data-driven and real-time immersive installation designed in 2024 on the now indispensable theme of air pollution. On this occasion, the artist is asked to create a work never before seen in the field of visual arts that takes advantage of the potential offered by the system provided by the Digital Shelter Association comprising sixteen high resolution 4K screens with a 16:9 video matrix, compatible with specific Media Players such as Brightsign and Pixera, integrated with a two-way piped audio system.
