Exquisite Murano glass lamps, vases and objects from a scion of the renowned Nason family
Born into one of the oldest Murano glassmaking families, Carlo Nason (born 1935) became one of the lead designers of Vincenzo Nason & Company. This bilingual English/Italian monograph offers a selection of his most recognizable glass works from 1959 to 2020.

Rosa Chiesa graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Politecnico di Milano and in 2012 she obtained her PhD in Design Sciences at the IUAV in Venice, where she was a research fellow for three years. She holds a chair at the University of Camerino for the teaching of History and Criticism of Design and at the ISIA Florence for the teaching of History and Criticism of Contemporary Design. She has taught History of Design at IED, Milan and since 2015 he has been teaching cultural subjects at Istituto Marangoni, School of Fashion and School of Design, Milan.
Since 1999 she has been working as a curator in the field of glass and as a freelance journalist in the publishing and iconographic research sector, collaborating with a number of publishing houses, for print and web publications, including RCS, Electa Mondadori and Portfolio Mondadori (architecture, design and graphics), Condé Nast and Hachette.
One of the most prolific glass lamp designers in Italy, Carlo Nason, who grew up within the traditional culture of Murano, has been able to direct his research and his vast production towards design, skillfully combining the mastery of traditional techniques and processes with an aptitude for innovative experimentation. The volume, born from the initiative of Fragile by Alessandro Padoan and Alessandro Palmaghini, and which inaugurates a series of publications dedicated to Italian design, investigates the rich production of the designer Carlo Nason, known mainly as a designer of glass lamps, proposing an initial systematization of his activity.
