The book presents a review of Spanish banking history through the chronicles of some of its main protagonists. Stories of the great banks and the illustrious figures who directed their destinies from the end of the 19th century to, in some cases, the beginning of the 21st century. A work that allows us to learn not only about the historical development of these institutions, but also about their contribution to Spanish economic and business history.

Über die Autorinnen und Autoren
Licenciada en Ciencias Económicas y Empresariales por la Universidad de Navarra y doctora por la Universidad de Jaén. Profesora contratada doctora del Departamento de Economía de la Universidad de Jaén, donde imparte, entre otras, la asignatura de Sistema Financiero Español. Pertenece a diversos grupos y equipos de investigación relacionados con su área de conocimiento. Su investigación se centra en la historia del sistema financiero, particularmente en el ámbito local, y con especial atención al sector de las cooperativas de crédito.
Doctor en Ciencias Políticas y Sociología (UPV – EHU. Bi. 1990) y licenciado en Historia (U. Deusto - Bi. 1981). Ha publicado más de cien títulos sobre historia de la banca y de la empresa de diversos sectores de la economía Desde 2020 está elaborando su obra “Gestión Económica Bancaria en la GGCC, 1936-1939”, profundizando en la economía y realidad de España Nos permitirá saber qué ocurrió en los años de la II República
