Gr 5-7-This collection of fantasy stories set in imaginary lands opens with "Para ser exactos" (To Be Exact), a hilarious tale of a family that does nothing but read. The mother reads while she cooks, and the baby reads in his crib. In the title story, a teacher makes sure that his students are wary of the kinds of things they wish for. "No importa" (I Don't Care) is about a child who is so mischievous that he finishes telling the story from the hospital. "Moni pinta una obra maestra" (Moni Paints a Masterpiece) is about the relationship that a little girl and an old man share through painting. The last story is the most absurd and original. Tabarron and Gangosete are two brothers, one of whom exists and the other who doesn't; one who is negative and the other who is positive. Beautiful full-page illustrations enhance the presentation. The richly imagined narratives are both intelligent and humorous. An appealing addition.-Judith Rodriguez, New York Public Library
