Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Xiaolu Guo (1973) nació en un pueblo de pescadores del sur de China. Estudió cinematografía en la Beijing Film Academy y publicó seis libros en su país antes de trasladarse a Londres en 2002. La traducción inglesa de Village of Stone estuvo nominada para el International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award. Su primera novela escrita en inglés, A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers, supuso unéxito de crítica y de ventas. Siguieron 20 Fragments of a Ravenous Youth y UFO in Her Eye, títulos que la han convertido en una delas autoras más brillantes de la actual narrativa escrita en lengua inglesa.

The novel tells the story of a Chinese woman who is sent by her parents to study in London. She soon renames herself "Z" because she finds that no one can pronounce her name, and then meets an English man without a name. Through the encounter, they both get to discover their own identity as well as the impossibility of two lovers to communicate.
