Abu Bakr Amhad ibn al-Husayn al-Bayhaqi, known to his students as al-Faqih Ahmad. He was born in the small town of Khusraugird near Bayhaq in the region of Nishapur, which is in modern day North Eastern Iran, in the month of Shaban 383H, 994CE. He excelled in his studies as a child, and as a Young man, Learning from the likes of al-Sayyid Abul Hasan Muhammad Ibn Husayn al-Hasib. In total al-Bayhaqi had more than a hundred teachers in Central Asia, Baghdad, and later in the two holy cities of Makkah and Medina. He is credited with over a thousand titles.
