Research Methodology is a ready-reference and a handy guide for research scholars and young researchers in different disciplines. From the qualities of a researcher to specific research methods, it addresses aspects and dimensions which are vital for the conduct of quality research. A probability sampling method is any method of sampling that utilizes some form of random selection. In order to have a random selection method, you must set up some process or procedure that assures that the different units in your population have equal probabilities of being chosen. Humans have long practiced various forms of random selection, such as picking a name out of a hat, or choosing the short straw. These days, we tend to use computers as the mechanism for generating random numbers as the basis for random selection. Sampling techniques can be divided into two categories: probability and non-probability. In probability sampling, each population member has a known, non-zero chance of participating in the study. Randomization or chance is the core of probability sampling technique. Simple random sampling as the name suggests is a completely random method of selecting the sample. This sampling method is as easy as assigning numbers to the individuals (sample) and then randomly choosing from those numbers through an automated process. Finally, the numbers that are chosen are the members that are included in the sample. Probability sampling allows researchers to create a sample that is accurately representative of the real-life population of interest. This book reliable one stop reference on all issues pertaining to Statistics. the subject matter has been presented in such a way that it is easily accessible to students.
