The Government of India has three independent branches namely the executive, the legislature and the judiciary. The country has a federal structure with elected Governments in States. The Government of India, officially known as Union Government or sometime referred to as Central Government, is the governing authority of a federal union of 28 states, 6 Union Territories (administered directly by the Central Government) and a national capital territory (NCT-Delhi). For most of the years since independence, the federal government has been guidd by the Indian Natinal Congress (INC). In India the two largest political parties have been the Indian National Congress (INC) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (NJP). Presently the two parties have dominated the Indian Politics, however regional parties too exist. The book discusses the basic concepts and techniques of financial accounting in a student-friendly manner.
