One of the most appealing and prominent features of operations research is its inherent interdisciplinary nature. Operations researchers commonly draw from a wide variety of disciplines including engineering, economics, computer science, statistics, psychology and other social and behavioural sciences. Applications are commonly found in finance, marketing, engineering, accounting, information systems, politics, medicine, and production/operations management.
