Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Prof. Dr. A.G. Murugesan is a leading environmental scientist from Sri Paramakalyani Centre for Environmental Sciences, M.S. University. He obtained his Ph. D. in industrial toxicology from Madurai Kamaraj University and has also been bestowed with a D.Sc. (h.c.). He has over 15 years of experience in research and teaching and is presently working on toxicity assessment, biomonitoring of rivers, waste water treatment, bioenergy generation and biocontrol of aquatic weeds. He has successfully produced a biopolymer using industrial wastes and water hyacinth. He has published about 400 research papers in reputed journals and is serving as sub-editor in two leading journals. He has to his credit a number of awards including the Tamilnadu Government Environmental Protection Award, the International Peace Prize, Mahakavi Barathiar Award and the prestigious TANSA award-2004. Dr. Murugesan has addressed in more than 100 national and international conferences and organized a number of seminars and workshops. Ms. C. Rajakumari is an environmental biologist with specialization in industrial waste management. She has successfully standardized the requirements for the utilization of water hyacinth for its nutrient removal potential. She has also studied the interaction between rhizosphere microbes and the plants. She has published 35 research papers in reputed journals and books.
