Nurturing the change-makers of tomorrow is a big responsibility, and this is exactly what Dr. P. Shyama Raju has executed with seamless perfection. An indefatigable champion of higher education in India, this determined leader is a known figure in the country. Dr. Raju&;s success story started with being an entrepreneur. After acquiring a degree in Commerce from SGS Arts College, Tirupati, he established DivyaSree Developers Pvt. Ltd, a Real Estate Development Company that has successfully spearheaded several construction spectacles across the country. The incredible success of DivyaSree was quickly followed up with the establishment of Rukmini Educational Charitable Trust, an organization that is involved in the pursuit of providing aid to the growing need for quality education and philanthropic quests for the environment and general awareness. Dr. Shyama Raju also founded the REVA Group of Educational Institutions under Rukmini Educational Charitable Trust which reinstated REVA in its present form in 2004. An ardent philanthropist, Dr. P. Shyama Raju has been personally involved in all CSR and University Outreach activities of the University. Under his aegis, the University made waves in the country as he introduced Jagruti, a social outreach campaign from REVA. He was awarded an Honorary Doctorate (Honoris Causa) by the prestigious Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi in 2015 for his outstanding contribution to Higher Education and Learning. He was presented with the Sir M. Visvesvaraya Shiromani Award for being a Visionary Educationist in 2016, followed by the high-status Karnataka Rajyotsava Award 2017 by the Karnataka State Government. He was also recognized as Global Asian of the year 2017 and Most Exemplary Leader in Internationalization of Indian Education Forum, 2018 in the Parliament House, UK. He graced the cover of Forbes India March 2019 edition as one of the top Global Leaders of the Country.
