For balanced spiritual growth, it is important to have at least a cursory knowledge of the scriptures of the other great faiths. Included are essays by recognized scholars on all the faiths of the world. This is not a collection of scriptures, but short introductory studies to the writings upon which the world's religions are based. Special focus is on the many approaches to religion found in India.

The essays were originally published in the 1988 Annual Number of the Vedanta Kesari and are now presented in book form.
