The genesis of this book was nearly three years ago when there was so much upheaval and discussion about medicolegal and malpractice issues related to our speciality, especially regarding family planning issues. The idea about the books on guidelines strikes us when posted as Deputy Director, Family Welfare, RCH Public Health Department Government of Maharashtra, handled important Subject like medical termination of pregnancy, PCPNDT, tubal ligation and laparoscopic, recognition of clinical trainings. It was observed that there are many practical queries by practicing obstetricians and gynecologists while implementing these programmes.
