Shakuntala Devi (1929–2013) was an Indian author, mathematician, and astrologer, famously known as the “Human Computer.” She combined her extraordinary mental calculation skills with a prolific writing career, producing works that spanned mathematics, puzzles, astrology, cookery, fiction, and even social issues. She is remembered not only for her mathematical genius but also for her boldness in writing on unconventional topics. In 2020, her life was dramatized in the Hindi biographical film Shakuntala Devi, starring Vidya Balan.
