This book, Can Modernity Survive?, from the rime, is written between the first two of trilogy; from the content, it is a works of transition to maturity of modernity thoughts. It expands the three components of modernity refered to in Theory of History -- civil society, capitalism and industry, but is doesnt systematically abstract them. It is in Theory of Modernity that they are systematically elaborated.
