Zustand: Sehr gut. Original hardcover binding with dust jacket, 288 pages, very numerous illustrations, in original shrinkwrap, upper edge slightly spotted. Detailed book about traditional architecture in Lhasa / Tibet, with an introduction of general features. The main part of the book is a catalogue of the buildings - other then the title suggest the book is not only about Lhasa but includes several monasteries in Southern Tibet. Each building is described with several photos and sometimes also with drawings, including sections and plans. Present are i.a. (apart from the obvious) Meru Nyingba, Na-lin-zha Monastery, Churbu (Tsurphu), Reting, Shar-lahkang, sGrolma Lhakhang (Nethang), Great Mosque of Lhasa, Printing Scripture Temple. Also some secular buildings in Lhasa. Thus a companion to André Alexander`s publications. Text in Chinese only, all captions of the illustrations and chapter headings also in English.
