This book tells the story of an ordinary man, Li Mutang, who strives to pursue a simple life. He encounters a fiery girl, Bing’er, and is impressed by her and Xu Shichu’s passionate love affair. Author Introduction

琼瑶,原名陈喆,一九三八年生于四川成都,出身于书香门第。一九四九年,随父陈致平由大陆到台湾生活,开始写作生涯,随后进入电影、电视剧制作行业。

Qiong Yao, originally named Chen Zhe, was born in Chengdu, Sichuan in 1938 and came from a scholarly family. In 1949, she followed her father Chen Zhiping from mainland China to Taiwan to start her writing career, and later entered the film and television production industry.

琼瑶十六岁时以心如为笔名发表小说《云影》,二十五岁时出版了第一部小说《窗外》。多年来,笔耕不辍,代表作有《烟雨濛濛》《还珠格格》《一帘幽梦》《庭院深深》等,并有多部经典作品被改编为电影、电视剧,影响至深,成为一代人的青春回忆。

At the age of sixteen, Qiong Yao published the novel ""Cloud Shadow"" under the pen name ""Xinru"", and at the age of twenty-five, she published her first novel ""Outside the Window"".
