This is an important classic worshiped by both Lucid Buddhism and Esoteric Buddhism in China. It has widespread influence in the history of Buddhism. There are three translated versions: one by Dharmagupta of the Sui Dynasty, one by Xuanzang of the Tang Dynasty, and one by Yijing of the Tang Dynasty. Generally, we refer to the version translated by Xuanzang. The Sutra mainly interprets the Twelve Great Vows of the Medicine Buddha who aimed to benefit all the living creatures. This book is a collection of lectures and notes by Mr. Nan Huaijin. Associating with his life experiences and all phenomena on earth, Mr. Nan profoundly and subtly elaborates on the idea of rescuing the world and benefiting the public that has always been advocated by Buddhism.
