Digitalisation and the changes and opportunities it brings do not stop at broadcasting, as demonstrated, for example, by the online activities of public service broadcasters and the discussions surrounding them. This book examines broadcasting in the digital age, focusing in particular on the development and understanding of the concept of broadcasting within media law and communication studies. Following a brief history of broadcasting, the theoretical section explains both the media law and communication studies perspectives. The second part discusses the methodology of the study, before the findings section examines, through various theses, how the respective understandings relate to one another and how broadcasting has developed. The book concludes with the author's own attempt at a definition of the concept of broadcasting.
