"I believe that..." is a phrase frequently used yet rarely questioned. Credition research has revealed that every act of belief triggers a physical process within the body. This field of research was established to explain these processes of belief - creditions. This book demonstrates whether and how the findings of credition research influence a new approach to 'learning to believe' in religious education - starting with an examination of the complexity of the concepts of faith, religion and religiosity, through to the theoretical preparation and delivery of lessons, and culminating in an analysis of the entire project.

Evelyne Fössleitner MA BEd., born in 1991, is an educator and head of department at the Astrid Lindgren Centre in Vienna. After completing her teacher training in German and Religious Education at the PPH Linz, she went on to study for a Master's degree in Catholic Religious Education at the University of Graz. Her educational work focuses on languages and raising awareness.
