Inhaltsangabe

The appreciation of deaf people and their culture, language, identity, and community requires a critical reading of the current context of Brazilian education and the inclusion policies that have been implemented. Given the scientific and social relevance of this dissertation entitled “The Educational Inclusion of Deaf People: Guaranteed or Suppressed Right?”, the research problem arises from the complex relationship between the educational inclusion of deaf people in mainstream schools and the lack of guarantee of their full right to be deaf people. The general objective of the research stems from the contextualization of its problem: to critically analyze the policy of educational inclusion, verifying under what conditions the rights of deaf individuals are guaranteed or suppressed.
