Freitas est pharmacienne (UFBA), titulaire d'un master en santé collective de l'université d'État de Feira de Santana (UEFS), d'un master en soins pharmaceutiques de l'université de Valence (Espagne), d'un troisième cycle en pharmacie clinique de l'université du Chili et est actuellement doctorante au sein du programme de troisième cycle en santé collective de l'UEFS.
