Oral health is a major public health issue affecting all groups of the population. The oral health of children is significant because they have an important role to play in oral health promotion. Most common oral diseases occur at very young age and persist till last decade of life. The barriers to oral health care in children are mainly due to internal family factors and external environmental factors which prevents adequate oral health promotion among them. Children and adolescents who are at the highest risk for oral disease are able to access oral health care via school-based or school linked services.
