Convergence is having numerous and important effects on the dynamics of the television news media, mainly in technological, business, professional, content and audience relations terms. As a result, television newsrooms are undergoing profound transformations, in the sense that, for example, the routines and work tools of information professionals are being redefined and, consequently, the processes of producing news content are undergoing various changes.In this context, after providing a theoretical framework, this book identifies and describes the consequences of Portuguese television journalists editing news content on video, using the central newsrooms of the Portuguese private operators, i.e. SIC and TVI, as the fields of investigation.
