Brazil's potential in terms of animal protein production is enormous, and over the last few decades it has risen to the top of the global chicken production chain, which has stimulated the national economy and created jobs, bringing new horizons to this segment. One of the main requirements of international importers is the quality of the end product, the consumables that are part of the chicken chain and the commitment to nature, which is a challenge not only for the animal protein sector, but for all food chains. Thus, the aim of this work is to focus on this segment, due to the need to know the profile of the agro-industries and the application of the environmental management system (EMS) with a study aimed at knowledge and decision analysis on the real need, or not, to implement an environmental management system, in order to meet the needs of its customers and legal compliance with environmental legislation.
