Laureata in Psicologia presso l'Università Federale di Paraíba (UFPB) in Brasile, è interessata a ricerche che riguardano gli effetti delle droghe in diversi contesti dell'individuo, ma anche il loro effetto sul Sistema Nervoso Centrale (SNC). Attualmente fa parte del Servizio di neuropsicologia dell'invecchiamento (Sene) dell'UFPB.
