This text covers basic mathematical concepts used in everyday life. We present an introduction to each subject and a variety of examples and exercises to fix the content, as we believe that a learning technique using problem solving is ideal for the initial study of mathematics. We hope that the text will contribute to the reader's basic mathematical training and that it will serve as a starting point for mathematical subjects in higher education.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor
Carlos Alberto Salazar Mercado es licenciado en Matemáticas por la Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, Perú. Actualmente es profesor en el Instituto Federal del Sudeste de Minas Gerais, Manhuaçu, Brasil. Patrícia Miranda Costa es licenciada en Matemáticas por la UFMG, Brasil. Actualmente cursa un máster en Matemáticas en la Universidad de Brasilia (Brasil).
