Basic wind engineering concepts helps one understand the chimney's response. The gust of the wind depends on basic wind speed, height, terrain condition, type of the structure, and cross-section of the structure. The circular cross-section of the reinforced concrete chimney characteristically provides aerodynamic drag along the wind direction and lift perpendicular to it. This work reviews the recommendations provided by different international codes and their implications in terms of design bending moments at the base of reinforced concrete chimneys due to along wind loading.

O Dr. Mohit Jaiswal concluiu a pós-graduação em engenharia estrutural em 2010 e obteve o doutorado em 2018. Sua área de estudo é carga de vento, compostos de polímeros reforçados com fibras e reforço de estruturas de concreto armado.
