This books describes the role of cinnamon as functional food in curing type 2 diabetes. Type 2 diabetes mellitus subjects were supplemented with 1 gm of cinnamon zeylanicum powder and the results were interpreted after 45 days. The plasma glucose and serum lipid levels improved drastically after cinnamon supplementation. When cinnamon is consumed along with daily food it reduces the incidences of infections.Thus cinnamon will be serve as a promising dietary adjunct for people with type 2 diabetes.
