The objective of this study is to assess the teaching/ learning needs of English language visa-a-vis the prescribed text of the Engineering Undergraduates of Andhra University College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam, India and its ten affiliated colleges. English is a subject offered in the first year of the four years Undergraduate Programme of the Engineering Course. The main purpose of the study is to examine the current English syllabus and its effectiveness in its implementation at the classroom level. It also attempts to find out how language skills along with life skills can be blended for proper utilization in real-life situations.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Dr. Narasinga Rao Barnikana is currently working as an Assistant Professor (under MHRD/NPIU Project) of English in the Department of Humanities, Samrat Ashok Technological Institute, Vidisha, Madhya Prades, India. He was actively involved in the preparation of the English syllabus for Engineering students at Andhra University.
