The present book deals with women's rights. It is an empirical study that was conducted in two districts of Punjab, India. The relationship between good governance and women's rights and the constitutional & legal status of their rights has been traced in this study. The book's main focus is to investigate the status of women's rights in Punjab and it is an attempt to discover the reasons behind the violation of their rights. It is an endeavor to identify the government and non-government organizations' efforts to protect the rights of women. This work is significant because violation of women's rights is a worldwide problem and India is no exception to it. It is trying to cover women from all segments of the population to reach the truth in this project. This book will be very crucial and helpful for the researchers who are working on this issue.

Sukhpal Kaur (Dr.) after obtaining a Ph.D. degree from Punjabi University, Patiala, opted for the teaching profession in 2014. Her research papers, three books as sole author two as co-author, had been published. She participated and presented her research papers in national and international seminars, conferences, and workshops.
