This book rather contemplates the issues mostly related to water governance specially ensuring its sustainable use, quality, equitable distribution and a holistic approach have been widely recongnized as most critical to sustainable agriculture and poverty eradication. On the other hand, water conservation agricultural growth and food security are the most relevant issues today but they seem to be conflict with one another. Watershed, a natural entity in itself combines forest management, land use management and water management. It is a hydrologic and physiographic unit that offers a very good planning and implementing soil conservation water harvesting, protection programmes. The watershed development programmes is the basic need for integrated and management of the land and water resources which provide life support for rural communities. There are several watershed programmes like DPAP National Watershed Development Programme the Desert Development Programme, Hariyali etc. However, there is no coordination between the different agencies involved in watershed programme in Kurnool District.
