This compilation discusses modalities of flexible learning and their perceived pedagogical challenges, specifically in the remote delivery of a course in the context of higher education institutions (HEIs). Conversely, it describes the pedagogical challenges of teacher-student interaction, learners' collaboration, and timely feedback as required in the virtual classrooms for the consequential promotion of 4th industrial revolution's employability skills of communication, team work, problem solving and learner's autonomy. Finally, this compilation explains how the need of these pedagogical components have been addressed by the used a learning management platform (LMS), educational technology applications and other web tools plugins. A proposed instructional/learning design for virtual modality embedding the learning elements of effective pedagogy will be put forward, alongside with some recommended edtech (educational technology) solutions/apps.
