An attempt to bring a confluence between peptide template and Carbon nanotube (CNT) is done with a goal of designing an ultra-sensitive diagnostic tool from this peptide-CNT scaffold. Synthesis of modified Poly Ethylene glycol resin for synthesizing peptide template with chemically addressable side chains, functionalizing carbon nano tubes with these peptide template and the designing of peptide–CNT conjugate with a potential bio-medical application etc. are described in detail. Synthesis and purification of Carbon nanotubes is described emphasizing the improvements in the already reported synthetic strategy. A cost effective and clean synthetic strategy is adopted.

Dr. Sudha E. obtained her doctorate in Chemistry from Jawaharlal Nehru technological university, Hyderabad, India. She has won 2nd rank in Master of Science in Polymer Chemistry from university of Calicut in 2004 and obtained Women scientist fellowship of Dept. of Science and Technology, Govt. of India in 2010.
