From the dustjacket: "The exhibition puts a special emphasis on the sculptures he created between 1909 and 1914. Syntheticizing a wide array of influences, these works show the dialogue that the young, classically trained Italian artist entertained with archaic and non-Western art, and with the artistic experimentations of his contemporaries".
