A transdermal patch or skin patch is a medicated adhesive patch that is placed on the skin to deliver a specific dose of medication through the skin and into the bloodstream. Often, this promotes healing to an injured area of the body. Lornoxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug of the oxicam class with analgesic, anti- inflammatory and antipyretic properties. Lornoxicam differs from other oxicam compounds in its potent inhibition of prostaglandin biosynthesis, a property that particularly explains the pronounced efficacy of the drug.
