Touch-less fingerprint recognition system is an alternative to conventional touch-based fingerprint recognition system. Touch-less fingerprint recognition system is differs from conventional system in the way that of use of digitally acquired image at the resolution of 300dpi or more . The conventional fingerprint systems are easy but it suffer from various problems such as hygienic, maintenance and latent fingerprints. In this thesis, I present a reliable solution of touch-less fingerprint recognition systems that uses very high resolution microscopic camera to capture level-2 features of fingerprint like minutiae extraction. Here I faced some challenging problems that occur while developing the touch-less system like are low contrast between the ridge and the valley pattern on fingerprint image, non-uniform lighting, motion blurriness and defocus. The touch-less fingerprint recognition system can be divided into three main steps: preprocessing, feature extraction and matching. In that, Preprocessing is an important step prior to fingerprint feature extraction and matching.

Mr.Sujit Ashok Inamdar has obtained his PG degree M.E.(ENTC) in 2016. He has worked in MNCs on projects in Banking domain to serve the society.His area of interest is towards use of Image Processing in Bio-medical application. He is serving as Assistant Professor in SVERI's College of Engineering,Pandharpur.
