Eve Gil nació en Sonora en 1968. Es narradora y periodista cultural. Ha recibido varios reconocimientos, como el Premio Nacional de Cuento Efraín Huerta, el Premio del Libro Sonorense, el Premio Nacional de Periodismo Fernando Benítez, entre otros. Ha sido becaria del Fondo Nacional para la Cultura y las Artes. Entre sus libros se encuentran Hombres necios, Sueños de Lot, Virtus y Jardines repentinos en el desierto. Es autora de la primera saga otaku en español, cuyos dos primeros títulos son: Sho-shan y la Dama Oscura y Tinta violeta.
