Miyamoto Musashi is Japan's best-known samurai. His life was the subject of the movie Samurai Trilogy, a recent documentary from The History Channel, and the long-selling novel Musashi by Eiji Yoshikawa.
Sean Michael Wilson has adapted many stories to manga and comic book format, including KI's Hagakure. He is the editor of AX: Alternative Manga, an Eisner Award nominee and a PW Best Book of 2010. Volume 2 of AX is in the works.
Chie Kutsuwada is the respected manga artist of Shakespeare's As You Like It and KI's Hagakure, among others. She has lectured and taught manga workshops around Britain and Europe.
William Scott Wilson (no relation) is the author of the definitive biography of Musashi, The Lone Samurai: The Life of Miyamoto Musashi. He is also an established translator of Japanese and Chinese classics, including The Book of Five Rings (upon which the present manga is based) and the forthcoming Drinking Tea with the Patriarchs: A Compendium of Classic Zen Sayings from Japan and China.
