This dissertation develops a novel conceptual framework that integrates knowledge and technology transfer (KTT) with the innovation process, addressing the fragmentation of both research streams. Building on a systematic literature review and qualitative interview analysis, the framework reconceptualizes KTT as a multidirectional, interactive process among academia, industry, and innovation users across the stages of ideation, development, and application. It synthesizes key dimensions―stakeholder contributions, transfer objectives, barriers, and facilitators―into a coherent, innovation stage-sensitive structure. The results demonstrate that effective transfer depends on aligning stakeholder roles and objectives with the specific demands of each innovation phase, while actively managing contextual barriers and enabling mechanisms. By linking transfer processes explicitly to innovation dynamics, the framework advances a stakeholder-centered understanding of KTT that bridges theory and practice and provides a foundation for more targeted transfer strategies and future empirical operationalization.
