The Retraction of Things was an exhibition series curated by Lukas Töpfer. It dealt with various aspects of exhibiting: the “institution”, the curator, the collector, the “public”, “the work”, the canon etc. The exhibitions took place at 3½,a small room between the third and fourth floor of the KW Institute for Contemporary Art, from September 2014 to January 2015. Their duration varied ― from one day to one month. The fourth publication in the series KW Pocket is published as a tin can containing 25 cards documenting parts of the exhibition series. Lukas Töpfer ( * 1988, Schwalmstadt, Germany) works as a curator in Berlin. He has organized a number of different exhibitions: Das Übrige: Der Rest eines Vorschlags, KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin, 2014; The Missing, or One Thing Next to Another, Kunstsaele, Berlin, 2014; One Place Next to Another, Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art, Moscow, 2014.
