Vincent van Gogh (1853 1890) Dutch impressionist mainly working in the south of France. His works are notable for their rough beauty and honesty, his saturated colors and extreme perspectives. His strong personality produced an impact on modern art like only few other artists in history. After many difficult years he died at the age of 37, known only to a handful of people. His fame came after his death.
