Created over four years (2006-2010), Alec Soth's newest book represents a significant departure from his three previous Steidl publications. Entitled Broken Manual, Soth investigates the places in which people retreat to escape civilization. Soth photographs monks, survivalists, hermits and runaways, but this isn't a conventional documentary book on life "off the grid." Instead, working with the writer Lester B. Morrison, the authors have created an underground instruction manual for those looking to escape their lives.

First edition. Softcover. A fascinating book that services a guide to people looking to escape their lives. Features text by "Lester B. Morrison" who is actually Soth with his interview of himself. A collection of some color and numerous black and white images by Soth of people on the fringes of society. A clean very near fine copy in wrappers. Signed by Soth on the front free endpaper both as himself and as Morrison. Surprisingly uncommon. Another terrific book from Soth who since 2004's classic "Sleeping by the Mississippi" has released one terrific book after another. Artikel-Nr. 208874
