Color makes all the difference – to the signal being sent, to the mood, to the imagination and still, it is so difficult to catch hold of and pinpoint precisely.

Within the contemporary artistic field of “painting in an expanded field”, Danish artist Malene Bach has developed her own intrinsic project of expanding the field of color. In sample pieces, colored objects, furniture, installations and computer animations Bach highlights and expands the expressive potentials of color with both humorous and spiritual qualities.

The monograph Malene Bach – Extended Color provides a mosaic portrayal of her artistic praxis from 1996 until 2009. All covers are hand-painted by Malene Bach and the linen weave is available in three different colors.
