Thomas Schutte: Figur - Thomas Schütte has long been noticed above all by his architecturally appealing models and objects. Gradually, it became clear that a parallel work of sculptures and drawings, with the human figure at the center, was created parallel. This publication is devoted to this part of the work. Schütte takes up the tradition of figurative sculpture and develops figures and heads, which are irrevocably present in their immediate radiance as well as in their production. Whether hand-sized ceramic sculpture or four-meter-high iron sculptures, the figures and heads of Thomas Schütte are, strangely enough, alien and intimate and touching as a counterpart.
