The work discusses different control strategies based on magnetic actuators applied to rotating machines. The first part is devoted to the vibration control obtained with Magnetic Dampers in different configurations: Active, Semiactive and Selfsensing Active Magnetic Damping. The design of the dampers and of the control laws is exposed. The second part deals with the levitation control based on Active Magnetic Bearings of a miniaturized gyroscope for automotive/aerospace applications. The design of a robust Hinf control and of a decentralized control is explained.
