This book was written by Magiswary Dorasamy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Murali Raman, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Saravanan Muthaiyah from Multimedia University of Malaysia and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maniam Kaliannan from The Nottingham University of Malaysia. It was produced as a result of our Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS), a national grant awarded by Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) of Malaysia in year 2010. The project was funded to test a community-based disaster readiness model in Malaysia. The project was successfully completed in year 2011. This book presents a contemporary review of disaster management with a focus on current disaster management, disaster management in Malaysian context, role of information systems in the form of Knowledge Management Systems (KMS), disaster taxonomies, research imperatives and future work.

Über die Autorin bzw. den Autor

Magiswary Dorasamy is a senior lecturer in Multimedia University Malaysia. Her area of expertise is Information Systems for disaster. To date, she has had a distinguished corporate career in ICT industries and academia career spanning over 15 years and has established herself with extensive experience in consultancy, research and development.
