The inadequacy of reach-all health budgets in many developing countries has usually been a matter of political and social concern in several countries affected by budgetary constraints.In a bid to achieve some level of equity in health care, Ghana officially introduced National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS)in 2003.This study sought to investigate the attitude of health workers,its implications for the sustainability of the NHIS.The study shows that health personnel had limited experience with legal framework that established the scheme.It was also revealed that notwithstanding the increase in patronage of health services since the introduction of the NHIS,this has not been matched with require health infrastructure.Nonetheless,most health personnel are satisfied in responding to the needs of NHIS card bearers.The study also found that monetary reward as well as job satisfaction has influence on how a worker would react to a client.The attitude of health workers has either negative or positive implications for sustainability of the NHIS.Is therefore recommended the need to motivate health workers is key to the sustainability of the NHIS.
